La Crema, preferred sponsor of the Kentucky Derby, partners with Flea Style in Dallas to make the “official” Kentucky Derby hat. This year will be the 150th running of The Kentucky Derby and the second year that La Crema has the honor of designing this quintessential statement piece for the event.

The 2023 hat represents the La Crema diamond you see on their label and a replica will be worn at our spring match so keep a look out! La Crema is celebrating 45 years in wine making excellence, focusing on cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the California Coast.

La Crema’s 2024 Kentucky Derby hat design will be unveiled during our spring match!

The Spring 2024 Hat Contest will take place in two parts. Come out for the Stomping of the Divots, grab a number, and parade in front of the announcer stand. Our La Crema judge will be taking note and will be ready to give out your awards after the match. Our hat contest prizes are influenced by the various regions in which the La Crema wineries are located:

• Williamette Valley - History Maker

• Sonoma Coast – Coastal Stunner

• Anderson Valley - Renegade Spirit

• Arroyo Seco – Howlin’ Hottie

• Los Carneros – Cool Kitty
